Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to the questions we get asked most.
Why was the app produced?
The app was produced out of frustration with other similar apps providing information that isn't useful for people travelling in big rigs, whether that's no information on space to turn around or obstacles and low trees that restrict large vehicles from getting in.
Why is the app free?
Dazza has heard many complaints about subscriptions or upfront costs of apps, which is why he's opted for sponsorship rather than subscriptions or upfront costs. He's a one-man band and tries to keep it lean, so if you love the app, shout him a coffee from the Sponsors page in the app. If there's insufficient sponsorship over time he may have to look at advertising on the app, but he doesn't want to ruin the interface for you.
How accurate is the information?
To start with, information was input into the app from the personal knowledge of the app testing team. Some places still need verification from this vast input, so please be vigilant - if you visit a site and find an issue, you have the ability to edit the site and correct it, plus upload photos of issues or the spectacular view at that site.
Will the app get more sites?
Yes, and you can help with this. Everyone using the app can edit existing sites and upload new sites as they're found. This is the best part of the app - the community of Big Riggers who help each other out like this.
Can I delete a site if I make a mistake?
Yes, if you entered a site and made a mistake you can delete it by editing the site - at the bottom there is the option to delete it. If you did not create the site, you have the option to contact admin to have them delete it, but you'll need to explain why.
What if I can't figure the app out?
There is a forum where you can look for answers or ask questions, and I'm sure someone will help you out.
What if I find a bug or mistake in the app?
On the Settings page there is a form you can fill out to let admin know about the issue.
